Jessica Aber, Former US Attorney, Dies at 43
Jessica Aber, who used to be the top federal prosecutor for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead in her home in Alexandria, Virginia, on Saturday morning. She was 43 years old.
Police went to her house after getting a call about an unresponsive woman. They confirmed it was Jessica Aber. Now, they’re looking into what happened. The medical examiner will determine how she died.
Aber’s career was dedicated to public service. She started as a prosecutor in 2009 and worked her way up. She even spent a year working in Washington, D.C., for the Department of Justice. President Biden appointed her as the U.S. Attorney in 2021, and she was unanimously confirmed by the Senate. She resigned earlier this year, after President Trump’s inauguration.
When she left her job, Aber said she was grateful for the chance to work with so many dedicated people in the Eastern District of Virginia, handling cases that affected people both locally and globally.
